Resources for Part-Time Faculty

The following resources provide support specifically to part-time faculty.

  • The New School provides options for certain benefits for part-time faculty.
  • Parsons Faculty Guide provides information to support part-time faculty teaching in Parsons programs, but much of the information will be relevant to all part-time faculty in the university.
  • The Delphi Project on the changing faculty and student success was created to support a better understanding of: The factors that led to a majority of faculty being hired off the tenure track; the impact of these circumstances on teaching and learning; and, potential strategies for addressing issues of rising contingency together. In addition to conducting original research on non-tenure-track faculty, they are producing important resources for use by leaders on campuses and among higher education organizations to create a better understanding of non-tenure-track  faculty working conditions and the implications for student learning toward promoting change.
  • New Faculty Majority is dedicated to improving the quality of higher education by advancing professional equity and securing academic freedom for all adjunct and contingent faculty.
  • New York City provides free tax preparation for those earning less than $66,000 per year. https://access.nyc.gov/programs/nyc-free-tax-prep/
  • We are in the process of gathering more Employee Assistance Program resources. Check back soon!
